Leyton 1
Carsharlton Atheltic 4
(Ryman Premier) LEYTON matched opponents Carsharlton Athletic for much of Saturday's game but were left on the receiving end of an unflattering scoreline as the Lilywhites' finishing let them down.
The difference between the sides was on-loan Fulham striker Ismael Ehui, who put Carsharlton in front after 20 minutes when Leyton keeper Sam Tanner's save fell at the feet of the forward and he made no mistake.
Leyton conceded two further goals in the opening half an hour, but they dug in and rallied soon after, going close when John Bricknell's header shaved the post.
After the break, Shaun Lee's powerful strike was blocked by a defender, but Leyton's persistence paid off on the hour when they pulled a goal back through Andrew Thomas, whose tidy close-range finish gave the hosts a sniff.
However, they conceded another late on, while Tanner made several terrific saves to deny the away side a greater margin, which would have been extremely harsh on Leyton, after a much-improved second-half.
A trip to Boreham Wood on Saturday is next on the agenda for the Tons as they look to finish the season on a high.
