ORION strengthened their grip on the Chingford League standings with a number of impressive performances on the Chingford Plains.

The standout athlete was the consistent Georgia Tuckfield in the girls’ under 13s, who led the pack to the line to take first, while team-mate Sydney Taylor came in second and Sienna Blake was fourth.

In the equivalent boys’ category George Hoy and Jesse Taylor replicated the girls' one-two finish, while Paul Inkpen was fourth.

Orion’s Lauren MacGregor, Jay Andrews, Armani Antoine-Chagar and Charlotte Matthews occupied the top four places in the girls’ U15s, while Alex Gordon and Ben Silverstone were fifth and sixth respectively in the boys’ race.

Laura O’Connor achieved a superb fourth place finish in the girls’ U17s and in the boys’ event Frankie Conway sprinted home for the win, while Auberon Hall was fourth.

Orion were in action again over the festive period as the club hosted an Essex League fixture, where Tuckfield continued her strong form with a second place finish, while Taylor and Blake came in ninth and 16th respectively.

Hoy ran well for fifth in the U13 boys’, with Taylor finishing 12th and Cheyenne Antoine-Chagar crossing the line in 19th position.

MacGregor finished in an excellent fifth place in the girls’ U15 race and she was closely followed by Armani Antoine-Chagar in sixth, with Gordon (12th), Silverstone (15th) and Tommy Penfold (23rd) enjoying good races for the boys.

Conway registered a highly impressive fourth place in the boys’ U17, while Daniel Penfold was ninth and Hall ran well for tenth.

In the girls’ equivalent race O’Connor achieved a 13th place finish, while Jessica Kipps and Amy Jung were 17th and 18th respectively.

Finally, Jack Stroud recorded a superb third place finish in the boys’ U20 race, earning him the silver medal in the overall standings for the season.
