ORION Harriers star Georgia Tuckfield was once again the star of the show at the prestigious annual Essex Championships at Gloucester Park, Basildon last weekend.
Tuckfield is on a rich vein of form, and she proved once again that she is a name to keep an eye out for in the future as she claimed a superb silver medal in one of the most gruelling courses in the county.
Emily Jung came in 32nd, while in the boys' under 13 race, George Hoy continued his strong recent form only to narrowly miss out on a medal with a fourth-place finish. Tom Hutchinson enjoyed a strong race, coming in in 18th, and he was followed by Paul Inkpen (25th), Anthony Adams (28th), Samuel Glynn (37th) and Zac Hall (38th).
For Orion’s U15 girls’ team, Lauren MacGregor (7th) and Jay Andrews (9th) ran superbly, and Melissa Timpson ran well to finish in 36th place.
In the boys' race Alex Gordon (26th), Ben Silverstone (29th), Buddy Green (51st), Joseph Glynn (52nd) and Nathaniel Glynn (54th) all competed well, as did Orion’s under 17 girl competitor Amy Jung, who finished inside the top 30.
Frankie Conway also continued his improvement this term with a creditable 11th place finish for the U17 boys.
