WALTHAM FOREST hockey club enjoyed double success last weekend with victories for both the ladies and men’s teams.
The men’s outfit trounced Harlow 9-1 in their home Division Three South East encounter.
Matt Tanswell managed an incredible four-goal haul, while strikes from Mike Walker, Chris Brown (2), Adam Greenwood and a first of the season for Mark Terris fired Forest to victory.
That goal capped an excellent display that keeps Forest second in the table and in contention for a title charge.
Meanwhile, Waltham Forest Ladies won their East League Division Two South West match against Haverhill Ladies 1-0.
After a cagey opening period, Anna Pearson finally found the breakthrough when she beat the Haverhill keeper with a reverse sweep.
Forest are now just one point off league leaders Broxbourne.
