Orion runners Lauren MacGregor, Jay Andrews, Armanni Antoine-Chager and Frankie Conway all secured invitations to represent Essex in the English Schools Championships after impressive runs for their respective schools in the weekend’s Essex Schools Cross Country Championships.
At the Orion Championship Mercury Cross-Country Race the excellent Jack Stroud won the U20 men’s run and Ben Hall came home in a superb third position.
At the South of England Indoor Track and Field Championships, Corinne Humphries ran superbly to take the gold in the U20 60m and there was an excellent silver medal for U15 high jumper Tommy Black.
Nikkia Sartori-Silgrist and Paul Inkpen enjoyed strong outings, while there were other good performances from Jermaine Hamilton and Evie Padmore.
Orion’s U13 runner Zac Hall is also to be congratulated for his Jack Petchey Award, presented to him for his achievements last year.
