CHINGFORD Town’s young side showed plenty of encouraging signs despite going down 4-1 against Broadwater United at the weekend.
The local side are currently bottom of the Football Alliance League Premier division but it surely won’t be long before they are climbing the table if performances like this one are anything to go by.
Town matched their opponents for much of the game, but some basic errors saw them slip behind.
That said, the heroics of Bradley Elias in the Chingford goal kept the team in with a shout.
The game did produce one moment of magic, however, as 16-year-old Jack Turnpenny first beat several players before evoking memories of David Beckham by spectacularly lobbing the keeper from inside the halfway line.
Chingford Town are looking for sponsors and anybody interested should call Kevin Ryan on 020 8506 1972.
