EPPING Cricket Club held their Annual General Meeting last week at Hemnall Street Social Club, during the evening the club awarded their latest recipients of the Jack Petchey awards.
The Club has been part of the Jack Petchey Awards for the last two years and has benefited greatly from their awards.
The award scheme looks to encourage youths and children under the age of 25 to contribute to their society in some way, not just by excelling at sport but by going that extra mile to benefit others.
September to December's achievement award was presented to Terry Preston for his work with the colts and for organising social events.
The club also awarded the first leaders award to Dan Sly.
Dan has, over the last two years built the colts part of the club from having no colts to regularly having 20 to 30 children attending practice sessions.
For this work, the Jack Petchey scheme awarded a £1,000 cheque to benefit the club. Dan gets to choose what the money is used for.
