WALTHAM Forest Gators swimmers emerged from the second weekend of competition at the Essex County Championships with a clutch of medals.
Stephanie Malcolm, 13, stole the show with a haul of two golds – in the 200m free and 100m backstroke – and two silvers, in the 100m individual medley and the 400m free.
She was closely followed by Amrita Robertson, 10, with two golds and one silver. She triumphed in the 100m IM and 200m back, while she was second in the 200m free.
Elizabeth Hare was in fine form, winning the 400m and 800m freestyle, as well as picking up two bronze medals for the 200m free and 100m IM.
Seven club swimmers took medals and top six places in the 800m freestyle.
Elliott Hill picked up gold, Tommy Willis won silver, as well as taking second in the 400m IM, while Sanaa Akbar won silver in the 800m and 200m free. Poppy Hill and Reece Barclay claimed bronze and Alexander Jameson was fourth, although he bettered that with a personal best time and victory in the 100m backstroke.
Other finalists included Alex Keating and Arjun Robertson. Also swimming were Ella Augustin, Joshua Burcombe, Oliver Burling, Eris Crawford, Niall Gandy, David Hare, Emma Hasler, Nathan and Rachel Leong, Nicholas Osman and Matthew Whyman.
