CHINGFORD karate sensations Jason and Samantha Plumb won six gold medals between them at the prestigious KUGB Southern Region Championships in Crawley.
Seventeen-year-old Jason took down the opposition in every competition he entered, winning the junior male individual Kata, junior male individual Kumite, senior team Kata and senior male team Kumite, while he was also presented with the Tony Francis award for the competition’s most outstanding competitor.
His sister Samantha, 20, wasn’t far behind, as she struck gold in the senior female individual Kata and senior team Kata, while she also came third in the individual senior female Kumite. Both are members of the KUGB England Squad and competed in the ESKA European Championships at the end of last year, where Jason took silver in the cadet male team Kumite.
Both are members of the Chingford Tora club, and one of the club’s sensei, David Ives, also won gold in the senior male Kumite event.
