Wadham 6

(Echo League U13's)

WEATHER conditions played a major part in this encounter but Wadham superiority shone through the pouring rain as they kept up their impressive away record with a convincing win with conditions hampering anything resembling pretty football.

Although the visitors faced the wind in the first half they were quick to test the home keeper as Jack Cookson went close on numerous occasions before he put Wadham in front having also hit the inside of the post. Earlier Wadham keeper Joe Cooper was kept alert as a shot that caught the wind brought an excellent save.

Second half started and it was pretty much one way traffic as the rain followed by sleet and strong winds caused havoc as the visitors took complete control and bombarded the home goal. Bryan Bontamba slotted home to settle the nerves as the same player hit the crossbar with a stunning shot and then a combination of good work from Bryan and Kerim Ali set up Cookson for his second and Wadham third.

A Thomas Hudson throw found Marcelo Tebbani-Maya for number four as Bontamba rounded the keeper for five.

Cookson completed his hat-trick, but credit to both teams as the rain and wind spoilt anything resembling a football match.
