ORION star runner Georgia Tuckfield produced a stirring finish to earn the club’s girls’ relay team a superb victory in the final Chingford League race meeting of the season at Trent Park.
Millie Hall, Rosie Edmonds and late substitute Katie Inch managed to stay on the heels of the leaders, setting the stage for Essex county athlete Tuckfield to storm through to cross the line first.
The boys’ under 13 team of Jack Waller, Zac Hall, Paul Inkpen and Cheyenne Antoine-Chagar matched that achievement as they also won.
George Hoy and Georgia Tuckfield enjoyed a clean sweep of the U13 category at the overall standings, while Jesse Taylor and Sydney Taylor claimed a bronze medal.
Auberon Hall and Laura O’Connor matched their clubmates’ success in the U17 group, while Alex Gordon, Lauren MacGregor and Jay Andrews also won individual medals.
Meanwhile, Lauren MacGregor represented Essex County in the 800m inter-counties fixture and recorded an excellent second place.
Four Orion runners also competed in the illustrious English Schools Cross Country Championships.
Armanni Antoine-Chagar came in third for Essex and was 44th overall, while Lauren MacGregor and Jay Andrews were third and fourth respectively for their county.
Frankie Conway came home in 165th.
