Redbridge 4
Braintree 4

IN A tense, exciting match Redbridge held on to top spot with a last minute equalizer from Edwards.

Caught on the back foot Redbridge gave away an early goal and struggled to gain advantage in a thrilling end-to-end first half.

Top scorer Edwards finally made it 1-1 after Pogmore and McKenna were frustrated with a handful of chances to score but no reward.

Braintree constantly attacked on the break and Fuwa was kept busy in goal with Probert, Al-Mudallal and Hargreaves working tirelessly to keep the Braintree forwards at bay.

Redbridge took a second half lead as McKenna was put through by Edwards but Braintree quickly equalized. De Ferry, Skelton and Peattie battled skillfully in midfield with Culley and Greenway making good breaks down the wings which led to Edwards second goal for a slender 3-2 lead.

Braintree broke back and scored two more goals which looked enough to sneak a win but Redbridge never gave up and with increasing pressure, skill and guts just managed to claw back a lasp gasp goal from Edwards to end a thrilling match.

This was always going to be a tight game from the two top teams in the league and neither side disappointed in a dramatic match.
