Snaresbrook Youth 2
Stevenage Borough 0
Eastern Junior Alliance (Hertfordshire Division) U18s
HEROICS in goal from the superb stand-in keeper Tom Mah for Snaresbrook Youth helped his home side to a comfortable victory over Stevenage Borough at the weekend.
Several sensational saves from the agile Mah – in place of usual Brook shot-stopper Toby Smyth - meant he kept a clean sheet in this vital clash which will help determine the final top places in the league.
It was just 15 minutes into the first half that Snaresbrook went ahead with a great goal from Ricky Briggs who slipped the ball into the right hand corner of the net.
Both sides had several more chances and Stevenage even hit the bar at tone point but the score remained 1-0 at half time.
Early in the second half Stevenage won a free kick just outside the penalty area, but another great Mah save stopped them from equalising.
Another attempt on goal from Briggs then went wide, and it was left to skipper Josh Woodcock to seal the match with a stunning goal from distance.
