by John Gough
AN IN form Harold Hill side came with just a win in mind.
But it was Ryan who started brightly with Maloney causing problems up front with his pace and skill.
Ahmed was back in centre mid and joined Gough in the engine area. Down the flanks Morris and St Hilaire-Prince were very lively feeding the powerful Taylor up front.
Ryan pinned Hill back as Morris, Taylor and the busy Fuller went close. The pressure finally told when Taylor turned his man and rifled home for the lead.
But Hill quickly replied but Maamoon saved well to his left. Fuller was in great form for Ryan and from his pass Gough had a drive that whistled past with the keeper beaten.
Then Ahmed powered forward played a one two with Taylor and slipped in Morris who finished with style for two nil. Then a long ball was helped back to Maamoon by Clark but the bustling Hill forward powered in between to fire home to reduce the lead.
Both sides were creative and there were a couple of near misses as half-time approached.
Hill came out confident after the break but time after time found Deslandes a mountain at the back for Ryan as was Clark. Then Maloney beat two and burst through to bring a fine save out of the Hill keeper.
Taylor's strength was telling up front and held the play up well. And with one turn he looked up and chipped a quality shot top corner with the keeper stranded.
But again Hill bounced back and with a brilliant passing move the winger was in on goal when a superb tackle by Clark saved the day.
Fuller had defied a painful ankle injury to carry on and was everywhere. He fed Gough who beat a man but his shot was parried for a corner.
Lamaswala then burst down the left and slipped in Taylor who again produced a quality finish for a well deserved hat-trick.
Hill looked shell shocked and Ryan stepped up their game with some good possession. The scoreline came as quite a shock but Ryan again proved that they are a side with grit and determination with that never say die attitude.
A bunch of team-mates that show togetherness, hard graft and most of all the passion to win. MOM Jake Fuller had his best game of the season.....with style.
