LEYTON ORIENT Com-munity Sports Programme (LOCSP) has been awarded silver status and handed £48,000 by the Football League Trust for their work in the community.
The announcement comes just weeks after the charity was named League One’s community club of the year at last month’s prestigious Football League awards.
The money received from the latest accolade will be fed back into the community through a number of different schemes, and is part of the Trust’s £1.72million pledge to initiatives across the country.
LOCSP chief executive Neil Taylor was pleased to have have been recognised. He said: “I am absolutely delighted to have achieved this award.
“The Football League Trust Silver Award recognises our internal standards; how we are run, the policies and procedures we have in place and work plans, for example.”
