WOODFORD Golf Club’s Thomas Salver competition was won, appropriately, by policeman Tom Slocombe at the weekend.
The local player amassed a haul of 38 stableford points off his handicap of eight – which has now been cut to seven. Bill Tyzack was second with 37, beating Richard Blackburn into third on countback.
