SPORTS-mad families flocked to a sun-kissed Buckhurst Hill Tennis Club’s Open Day on Saturday.
Mums and dads joined club members to play a few sets while the children enjoyed practice sessions with coach Lun Kwan.
“We had a large number of youngsters along, probably inspired by Andy Murray’s success,” said a delighted Lun.
“The weather was kind and they all had a great time. We also had a lot of adults who showed promise.
“Several have joined the club and we hope they will push on and play in our league teams. It was a great day all round.”
Buckhurst Hill’s bowls section also played host to dozens of potential new members, who demonstrated their skills on the green with encouragement from the bowls committee.
