A NUMBER of Orion's youngsters competed for Waltham Forest in the London Mini-Marathon across the Capital's streets last weekend.
Leading the way for the Waltham Forest was the boys' aged 15-17 contingent who won the team award in the London boroughs' event.
Individually, there were high place finishes for Frankie Conway (13th), Auberon Hall (32nd), Matthew Moy (89th) and Daniel Penfold (147th).
Georgia Tuckfield ran magnificently to come home in second place in the girls' aged 11-12 category, ably supported by Sydney taylor (13th), Amelia Hall (43rd), Madeleine Carr (79th), Casey Caldenk (96th), Joelle Ewen (105th) and Bethany Frost (113th), to be placed fifth in the overall team award.
For the girls' aged 15-17 race, Orion runners were also well placed, led by Lauren MacGregor (8th), Jay Andrews (9th), Melissa Timpson (150th) and Emily Jung (200th).
In the boys' aged 13-14 event, Auberic Hall was well placed (57th), followed by Joseph Glynn (137th), Jesse Taylor (143rd), Tommy Penfold (167th) and Jack Waller (187th).
For the girls' aged 13-14 run, Orion runners also performed with great credit with a strong finishes from Armanni Antoine-Chagar (14th), Charlotte Matthews (34th) and Rosie Hudson-Edmonds (107th).
The boys' 11-12 race was also well contested by Orion athletes, led by Cheyenne Antoine-Chagar (37th), Paul Inkpen (166th), Samuel Glynn (172nd) and Ben Goodyear (231st).
