BANCROFT Rugby Club raised over £3,000 for Help for Heroes when they staged a charity day last week.
The team took on the Army Air Corps and Bancroft School Leavers in two friendly matches, and won them both.
The day also saw SAS author Andy McNab make a special appearance, while Essex fire brigade and an Essex police helicopter were also present.
The club also hosted a raffle, barbeque, disco and a bouncy castle.
