Wadham 3
Debden 1
(Echo League U13s)
A PULSATING game with second in the League playing third as Debden holding the higher of the two before kick off.
Teams were evenly contested early on and after Midfield dominance the home side were rewarded with a Marcelo T-M strike. Kerim A, James D and Robert R were controlling the midfield.
An up and under enabled Brain B to challenge the last defender and the ball fell kindly for Macelo who shot down the middle of the goal.
Visiting Keeper came to Debden's rescue as he tipped a Marcelo effort away then Wadham were caught out by a similar effort as a punt down the middle was latched on for the equaliser.
It was a while before Wadham found their feet in the second half, but in quick succession scored two goals to lead 3-1.
The second came a Thomas H through ball as Jack C outpaced the defender to beat the advancing Keeper soon followed by a third as Macelo netted his second with a fine strike.
Further chances fell to Jack C, Marcelo and Kerim A to extend their lead, but the visiting Keeper was again outstanding.
The squad from Keeper Joe C to the front players produced an outstanding team performance and special praise must go to defenders Captain Srinivass B, Charlie C, Thomas H, Jack S and Goskal R.
The teams meet again on Thursday to contest second spot.
Team: Joe C, Thomas H, Jack S, Kerim A, Charlie C, Srinivass B, Robert R, James D, Cameron F-N, Brian B, Marcelo T-M, Jack C, Jamie G, Goskal R, Jack D.
