WITH the last game of the season Colebrook U13s wanted to finish on a high and they didn't disappoint.
With a weakened team only 9 players against a full strength Fenford, they went behind within 5 minutes. But that was soon reduced through a penalty for hand ball.
Mark Redhead stepped up cool as ice and slotted the ball past the keeper. The extra players was taking effect, with Fenford out pacing the defence and went 2-1 up.
Colebrook showed the never give up spirit with a quick response through Max Cushion who volleyed a special strike to make it 2-2. With still 10 minutes to play in the first half Fenford got back in front, but this was short lived when Daniel Roult was fouled in the area.
Mark Redhead slotted the ball into the net to make 3-3.
Second half started with Fenford having ten boys on the pitch due to injury. With Mark Redhead on fantastic form he soon scored his hatrick with a great effort from outside the box, for the first time in the match Colebrook where in front.
Soon they extended that lead to 5-3 with Luke Gosnell stabbing the ball past the stranded keeper. Fenford shoulders went down and Mark Redhead made it 6-3 scoring his fourth of the game.
Danile Roult had a few chances to extend the lead but was denied by the keeper and efforts going just wide.So a great end to a season that had its highs and lows, but Manager Steve Gosnell was very pleased with this result, with a weakened team.
