BUCKHURST HILL had little success in the Thursday Fours.
The A team lost 12-25 to Griffin; the B team lost 11-34 to Loughton; the C team lost 16-20 to Connaught; the D team lost 18-19 to Orford House; and the E team of Ralph Levine, Naj Bhumbra, Doug Smith & Ray Ascott beat Durrants Park 39-8.
The Club's competition for Mixed Fours, the Carroll Cup, was won by Joan Davies, Phyllis Barnard, Peter Tuff & Alan Hawkins, with Joan Moore, Tony Moore, Peter Dainton & Margaret Dainton runners-up.
In the friendly social occasion that is the annual match between the Bowls Section & the Tennis Section, where there is a handicap used to give the Tennis players a chance (and to give the Bowlers an excuse), both teams won on three rinks and the match was therefore decided on the total shots scored, resulting in a 62 - 61 victory for the Tennis players.
