A CHINGFORD boxer making his debut against a tough opponent came away with a crushing win.
Matthew Chanda, of Waltham Way, fought as part of a London team who were competing against a Tyne Tees and Wearside team in Newcastle on Saturday.
Chanda fought Anthony Nelson, who was last season's class A national novice champion and had an impressive 20 bout record of 18 wins heading into the contest.
The Chingford boxer was the first fighter to box for the London team and won convincingly 14-4 points but unfortunately the London team lost the competition 5-3 to their north-eastern opponents.
