LOCAL golfer Simon Khan narrowly missed the cut at the US Open after a weekend of battle with the weather, as well as the challenging Bethpage Black course.
The Epping resident carded a five over par score of 145 from his two rounds, missing out on the final two days by just one shot.
A disappointing 75 in his first round saw Khan slip down the leaderboard, but he turned it around admirably on the second day with a level par round of 70.
Despite the impressive fightback, Khan was left biting his fingernails, as Swedish golfer Johan Edfors, the last man out on the course at four over, would have had to bogey the final hole to lower the cut mark to five over. However, a par down the 18th ensured Khan was packing his bags early.
