WOODFORD Golf Club committee member Stephen Bland claimed his first major trophy in 20 years of membership when he won the stableford Barber Challenge Cup at the weekend.
Bland managed to rack up 38 points round the local course to top the leaderboard, earning a one shot cut in his playing handicap to 19.
Only members with handicaps of 14 and above qualified for the competition.
Second place went to Ronnie Roast with 35 points, one ahead of former captain Michael Jones and Dr Alex Lyons, both on 34 points.
