YOUNG swimmers from the Waltham Forest Gators showed their teeth with winning times for a chance to pit themselves against the country’s best.
Eleven members of the squad have qualified for the National Swimming Championships in Sheffield.
The youngsters, who are all aged between 11 and 17, are there now, representing Waltham Forest.
Alexander Jameson is in the 50m, the 100m, the 200m and the 400m free category, and also swims in the 100m and 200m backstroke.
Alex Keating is in the 50m, the 100m, the 400m, the 800m and the 1500m freestroke.
Elliott Hill is in the 200m, 400m, 800m and the 1500m freestoke, while Nathan Leong is in the 100m and the 200m flystroke category, and the 200m individual medley.
Nick Osman is in the 100m freestroke and the 100m flystroke, with Reece Barclay in the 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestroke.
Girls are also well represented.
Amrita Robertson is in action in the 200m flystroke event, while Elizabeth Hare is in the 800m and the 1500m freestroke.
Poppy Hill is in the 800m and the 1500m freestroke.
Stephanie Malcolm is in the 100m and 200m backstroke, as well as the 100m and 200m fly.
Emma Hasler is in the 4x200m freestyle relay squad.
Elsewhere, 60 swimmers from Redbridge Swimming Club competed in the Epping Open meet at Loughton Pool.
It was a success too, as Redbridge won top club for the third year running.
Chris Worby, Dean Smith, Chris Stamp, Chris Inch, Ben Hollis, Lewis Archer, Ryan Smith, Ivan Georgiev, Ben Jobson, Johnathon Worby, and Adam Gillard were among the swimmers in action.
