CHINGFORD Cricket Club are to take on an Australian side in a match which will feature at least two former top-level players, this Sunday.
The antipodeans from Sydney CC will be at Chingford’s home, which is off Kimberley Way, from 11.30am.
Aussie Greg Rowell will play. He used to bat for Queensland Bulls, New South Wales Blues and Tasmanian Tigers.
Paul Jarvis will also be in action. He bowled for Yorkshire and England.
There will be refreshments and a barbecue too, which spectators will be able to enjoy with the Aussie guests.
The match forms part of celebrations to mark Chingford CC’s 125th anniversary.
The club has produced a book in honour of the occasion. It is called Chingford Cricket Club: 125 years not out.
Ex-England and Chingford player Doug Insole launched it at a club ceremony recently.
