ONE shot decided this year's London Borough of Waltham Forest ladies pairs final.
It was an all Connaught BC clash and was won by Pat Watson and Barbara Low, who prevailed over Kathy Tredgett and Janet Kemp 21-20 at Silverthorn BC.
In the mixed pairs final, Pat Watson and Tim Mould of Connaught BC won 23-15 against Sue and Dave Waters from Ilford BC.
Janet Carrington, of Connaught, won the Secretaries and Treasurers Competition on the final day of the Essex Ladies' Championships.
Sylvia Bloomfield, also of Connaught, was the runner-up in the Essex Champions of Champions final after being beaten by Sheila Pearce of Wickford BC.
Connaught were also defeated in the final of the Benevolent Triples, after Pat Watson, Janet Carrington and Wendy Coldham went down to a trio from South Benfleet.
Meanwhile, Bantham & Ongar BC ladies won the Harlow Triples League after they beat Epping at home in the last game of the season.
Jackie Brown, Irene Morris, and Doreen Oddy had a runaway win by 29 shots to 11, while Hazel Issitt, Joan Cooper and Pat Kitson were also victorious after a 17-9 triumph.
There was also success in the Senior Citizens Triples League at home, when Bantham & Ongar saw off Tye Green, winning three rinks and drawing one.
Sheila Hawes, Jean Miller and Geoff Hyatt were in fine form, winning 30-9, while Doreen Oddy, Valerie Finbow and Irene Carter won 23-13.
There were also wins for Beth Stables, Cliff Morris and Joan Barnes, who won 23-11, while Win Hyatt, Hazel Issitt and Pat Kitson drew 13-13.
