WALTHAM Abbey failed to qualify for this season's FA Cup when they were beaten by local rivals Enfield Town.
Rudi Hall handed the visitors victory with a penalty five minutes before half-time following a Denny Webb foul on Adam Wallace.
The spot kick was enough to hand Enfield Town a 1-0 victory in this FA Cup first round qualifier on Saturday, September 12.
It was a frustrating afternoon for the Abbots, who hit the woodwork twice and had several chances to score.
Josh Cooper, making his Abbey début, struck the post from distance.
James Elmes' curling free kick also hit the woodwork while a Lee White header nestled on the top of the net and Dayo Oshitola drove wide after being released by Cooper.
However, it was not to be for Waltham Abbey, whose FA Cup journey was abruptly halted before it was allowed to start.
