CHIGWELL School played host to a prestigious national event at the weekend, as teams from across the country gathered to take part in the Independent Schools Football Association National U19 six-a-side tournament.
Thirty-two teams from as far afield as Manchester, Newcastle and Jersey descended upon Chigwell’s eight full-size pitches across their 70 acres with hopes of lifting the coveted trophy and earning the title of national champions.
Teams were split into eight groups of four, with the top two going on to challenge for the cup.
Chigwell qualified in second place from their group but were defeated by a strong Hampton side in the last 16. Bradfield College were the eventual winners.
