Two golfers from Woodford GC represented the club in a county competition, the Mullis Trophy, and finished runners-up to a pairing from Bentley.
Mike Hennessy and Roger Newman, who often play together, combined well in this foursomes bogey competition, played over 36 holes.
Hennessy was fresh from participating in Woodford’s annual captain v secretary match the previous day. Played as fourball better ball, the secretary’s team, led by Peter Willett, triumphed by five games to four over captain Mark Deeming’s side.

Sheen beat Michael Pinner 6&5 over 36 holes.
Robert James won the Captain's Plate, beating Andy Gray 2&1 over 18 holes. The Pymans Cup, the mens' foursomes competition, was won by club captain Ray Stevens and Eric Mooney, who beat Charlie Finn and Ted Roche 4&3 over 36 holes.
In the ladies' section, Sarah Berryman won the singles' matchplay competition, the Parker Cup, beating Maura Gallagher 4&3 over 36 holes.
The ladies' foursomes was won by Sofia Christiansen and Lorraine Ratcliffe, who saw off Kirsten Biggs and Meena Shah 5&4.
Nina Kinsella beat Meena Shah 3&2 to win the Forest Bowl.
The Bayford Bowl, for juniors, was won by Oliver Curtis, who beat Jack Davis 4&3. Curtis also paired up with Max Lawrence in the Keith Osbourne Cup to beat Jack Davis and Jack Bulley 6&4.
