Connaught BC Ladies met Shell Ladies in the final of the Essex Ladies Top Club competition at Maldon.
And the match did not disappoint, Connaught just being edged out in an exciting contest.
Connaught won the singles and fours, but lost the pairs and triples, which meant the result had to be decided on shots difference.
Sylvia Bloomfield triumphed in the singles, while Cathy Tredgett, Gwen Sims, Shirley Volins and Lynda Hawkins were victorious in the fours.
Meanwhile, Connaught won the Hospital Triples Charity final, when Janet Gray, Sylvia Bloomfield and Tim Mould saw off a Buckhurst Hill trio.
The final of the Clarke-White competition between Halex and Wadham was played at Connaught, with the former taking the trophy.
Among the winners during Connaught's finals' day were Janet and John Gray, who beat Pat Watson and Tim Mould 19-15.
