EPPING golfer Simon Khan won a place back on the European Tour after a magnificent display to win the qualifying school in Catalunya last week.
Khan led for most of the gruelling six-round tournament, in which the top 31 players were handed a place at the top table of European golf, and will compete at the top table once again next year.
The 34-year-old won from England's Sam Hutsby by just one shot on 20 under par, although he had held a six-shot lead heading into the final round.
There was bad news for the other local representative, Chigwell's Oliver Fisher, who failed to make the cut after four rounds and will have to settle for a place on the Challenger Tour next year.
It is believed the 21-year-old golfer will be able to take part in some of the European Tour's smaller events, but should he fail to win the necessary prize money to win a place back on the Tour, he will have to return to qualifying school to win his card back.
Both Khan and Fisher endured disappointing seasons on the Tour, finishing just outside the top 115 players who are automatically invited back next year.
