London Borough of Redbridge Swimming Club took a team to a top meet in Sheffield which featured an Olympic Champion and Olympic qualifiers.
Charlie Dentith started off the weekends swimming with an 11 sec PB in the 1500. He also set a 2.5 sec PB at the 400 stage. Charlie’s 1500 time was 15 secs inside of the National time and he also achieved his 800 NQT during this event. In the 400 event, Charlie smashed his PB by 6 seconds and achieved his 4th NQT. The 400IM was also impressive with Charlie achieving a 2 sec PB to achieve another long course NQT. In the 200 free, Charlie achieved a 1 sec PB and also another best time in the 200IM.
Ben Hollis started his weekend with two great swims. In the 200 fly, Ben set a 2 sec PB which was a long course NQT. Ben was just outside of his best in the 100 fly, but achieved a NQT. In the 100 free, Ben set a 1 sec PB and was just outside his best in the 200 free.
Dean Smith achieved a personal best time in the 100 free and equalled his best time in the 100 back. In the 100 fly and 200 free, Dean finished just outside of his best.
Kelsey Richards achieved a lifetime best in the 200 free. In the 200 fly, Kelsey was on target for a NQT at the 150 point, but due to illness, finished just outside. The 100m followed straight after the fly and her time of 63 secs was 0.2 outside of her best.
Lawrence Brown swam a good 800 free and also swam his 2nd fastest 400m free, just outside of his best. Lawrence equalled his PBs in the 100 & 200 free and set a 1 sec PB in the 200 back.
Chris Inch swam just outside of his best in the 200 fly. However, his time was still 6 secs inside the NQT. Chris achieved another NQT in the 100 fly. It was just outside his best but is 2 secs inside of the NQT. In the 200 free, Chris swam a really strong race to achieve a 1 sec PB and another NQT Johanna Lindblom swam to an impressive 4 sec PB in the 800m free.
Phoebe Hayes swam a solid 200 free, finishing 1 sec outside of her best. She set a best time in the 800 free and the fastest 100m swim for 12months. In the 400 free, Phoebe swam just outside of her best.
