Sudbury 2
Waltham Forest 1
East 1S
Despite another loss in Waltham Forest's league campaign, the visitors were happy with their performance against in-form team Sudbury. A vast improvement from last week's match, Forest were a different team with quicker passing, fluid movement and a high work rate.
It was perhaps telling that Sudbury scored whilst Forest were reduced to ten players both before and after half-time. Some loose marking contributed to the first goal, whilst the second was a goal mouth scramble that went the host's way.
Forest were undetered however and battled on against a strong and capable Suffolk side. Emily Mulville assisted Forest's goal, giving Mandy Briggs her first of the season with a superb low drive that eluded the 'keeper at the far post. Forest had the momentum but couldn't find the equaliser before the final whistle despite some promising moves.
Forest travel to the other end of the east region next week to meet Folkestone, and will be hoping for some revenge for the four nil loss they suffered in the first leg of the fixture.
