LEE VALLEY LIONS enjoyed victory number two of the ice hockey season at the weekend.
The team, which is named after the ice rink in Lea Bridge Road it calls home, beat their close rivals Slough Harrier Hawks 5-4, in a closely fought match.
The Lions’ squad is bolstered by a female presence this season, and Angela Taylor got on the scoresheet with the third goal for the hosts.
Later on, Robyn Maby replaced Ruth Cattell on the rink, between the pipes in goal.
Her entrance into the Lions den chimed with a late flurry by the Hawks, as the under-strength visitors knocked in three unanswered goals.
It was a nail-biting finish, but luckily for the Lions they had done enough to seal the win.
