EMILY COLE was the star performer as Redbridge Swimming Club took part in the first round of the Essex 50m Championships.
The young swimmer streaked away from the rest of the competition to win the butterfly, before coming second with another excellent performance in the freestyle.
Chris Inch recorded two personal best times to finish second in the backstroke and third in the fly.
Kelsey Richards picked up two PBs to finish second in the back and third in the free.
Joe Stamp was third in the fly, while there was plenty to celebrate for Ivan Georgiev, who was second in the fly and racked up two third place finishes in the free and breaststroke.
Lucy Harwood swam to two PBs, finishing third in the free and fourth in the back.
There were also notable displays from a number of other swimmers, including Eloise Montanana, Jessica Lambert, Theo Athientis, Sophie Copper, Dean Smith, Ben Hollis, Charlie Dentith, Toby Mascall, Nya Pentinaud, Ellie Bedwell, Georgia Hunton-Clarke, Kieran Holdbrook, Sophie Priddle, Frank McGuirk, Kenneth Mann, Ryan Smith, Tom Beadle, Lawrence Brown, Ciara Purcell, Charley Bird, Fraser Scott, Grace Wingrove, Samuel Kelly, Carly Truong, Ben Jobson, Marie Campbell, Sophie Hollie, Demi Smith, Sadie Lucas, Lewis Defreitas Archer, Chris Stamp and Ellie Wright.
In the relays the women’s 4x200 and 4x100 teams came second. The men won their 4x100 individual medley race and were second in the 4x100 free and 4x200 relays.
