OLD LOUGHTONIANS’ under-12 girls hockey team will represent the East region in the National Finals after a nail-biting finale in which they secured their place in Nottingham with a penalty strokes victory.
Having breezed through the group stages without conceding a goal, Canterbury stood in their way in the final of the East qualifiers. After Megan Brooks scored for Old Loughts, pictured, their opponents equalised, but the Chigwell side prevailed to win the shield 4-2 on penalties.
Not to be outdone, the boys’ U12s team, pictured (far right), also progressed to the National Finals after finishing second in their group.
