CHIGWELL under-14s hockey team recorded a highly-impressive top six finish at the recent National Schools Hockey Championships.
The boys, pictured, qualified as one of the top two teams in the east of England region and rose to the task in the finals at Cannock, winning one, drawing another and losing their other two group games.
Conor Caplan and Andrew MacGregor found the net twice at the tournament, while skipper Will Godfrey, Albert Padfield and Josh Banfield also scored, their goals securing third place in their group.
The performance at the national finals marks an excellent achievement for the local side, who will undoubtedly look to build upon that success next season.
