CELTIC striker Gary Hooper faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a feared broken leg and ankle ligament damage in the team's 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock last night.
The Loughton-born forward, who moved to Celtic from Scunthorpe United in the summer, could even miss the remainder of the season if it is confirmed he has broken his leg.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon told the Daily Record after the game: "It looks like ankle ligament damage but the early prgnosis is not good. There is a worry about the fibula as well but I don't want to sound too doom and gloom about it.
"We hope it's not a break. He'll be scanned in the morning but it's a huge blow because he's the top scorer."
Hooper has netted 11 times for the Bhoys this season and has established himself as one of the Scottish Premier League's most feared marksmen.
