LEYTONSTONE boxer Michael Amoo-Bediako has shown a glimpse of what is to come from him in the future after he blitzed his way to the final of the National ABA Class A Novice in the 60kg weight division.
The 20-year-old fighter has swept aside all that have stood in his path and has earned the right to fight for the prestigious title of national champion when he takes to the ring on January 23.
A switching of allegiance from Repton ABC to East Ham ABC appears to have done the trick for the rising ring star, as five victories in a row have taken him to the brink of the Class A Novice title. First to taste defeat was Dagenham Police Community Boxing Club's Alan Smith in the London North East divisional finals back in November.
Aundrey White was Michael’s next vanquished opponent, and he was crowned London champion when on the same night he defeated Toby Leonard.
In the subsequent London against the Home Counties pre quarter-finals Michael overcame J Raval to reach the last eight of the national championships.
A bye secured him a place in the semi-final, where he beat Wessex ABC’s Stuart Thomas, stopping his opponent in the third round to book his place in the final, to be held in Dagenham this Sunday.
