MEMBERS of Orion Running Club sprinted to success in the fifth leg of the winter season’s league on the Chingford Plains recently.
Madeline Carr won the under-13s girls’ race with team-mates Evie Foster and Katie Inch finishing third and fourth respectively, while in the boys’ event Daniel Richards finished third and Ben Pattison fourth.
Orion’s Essex runner Georgia Tuckfield won the U15 girls’ race, followed by Sydney Taylor in second place. Heather Marshall was fourth.
For the U15 boys, Orion scooped the first three places with George Hoy, Cheyenne Antoine-Chagar and Matthew Boyce racing home to make it a 1-2-3.
In the U17s girls’ race Armanni Antoine-Chagar won, with Melissa Timpson coming in second.
For the U17 boys, Alex Gordon won and Alberic Hall came third. The team are on course for victory in the team events.
Meanwhile, Nancy Callagher stormed to victory in the Junior Cross-Country Open in Benfleet.
