OLD Loughtonians’ boys and girls under-18 teams made the finals of their National Indoor Championships at the weekend.
Both sides topped their pools to set up semi-final matches.
The girls beat Wakefield 3-1 in their match to progress through to play Beeston in the final. However, the intensity of playing four indoor matches in one day took its toll and they went down 0-4.
Playing Cannock in their semi-final the boys were comfortable 7-2 winners and moved into the final to face Wycombe, a team they knew well from their encounters in the outdoor game.
However, despite having their chances, tired legs proved just too much and they narrowly went down 2-3.
Old Loughtonians’ men’s indoor side will be hoping to go one better on Sunday at Wembley Arena in the final of the National Super Sixes competition, but will need to defeat the highly-fancied East Grinstead in the semi-final first.
