James Collins had the most successful evening of the five West Ham players who were on international duty last night.
The Hammers centre-half, who returned to the Wales squad following clear the air talks with Chris Coleman after the manager had claimed he had turned down a call-up for last month’s game against Serbia, helped his side keep a clean sheet as they defeated Macedonia 1-0 at Cardiff City Stadium.
Hammers teammate Jack Collison did not feature on the night, while Joey O’Brien and Stephen Henderson were unused substitutes as the Republic of Ireland were beaten 3-0 by Germany.
Elsewhere, Razvan Rat was not in Romania’s match-day squad as they saw off Andorra 4-0.
