Roy Hodgson has decided not to call up Ravel Morrison to the England senior squad despite promising performances for West Ham United and the England Under-21s.
England manager Roy Hodgson and Gareth Southgate have discussed the possibility of promoting Morrison to the senior side, but have decided it would be better for the playmaker to continue his development with the Under-21s.
Morrison scored on his debut for the Under-21’s in a 5-1 thrashing of Lithuania as Gareth Southgate’s side maintained their unbeaten record in qualifying.
The Young Lions will take on Finland at MK Dons’ stadiummk next Thursday and then move onto Shrewsbury Town’s Greenhaus Stadium to face San Marino on Tuesday, November 19.
