George Moncur has admitted there is “some sadness” at leaving West Ham after his move to Colchester United was made permanent for an undisclosed fee.
The son of former Hammers favourite John, Moncur has been on loan with the League One club since pre-season, making 21 appearances in all competitions, and the Upton Park outfit have now confirmed the switch has been made permanent.
The 21-year-old leaves the Hammers after making just two first-two appearances and he told the club’s website: “There is some sadness about leaving West Ham because I was there for a good few years and I had some great times there.
“My dad spent a few years there as well so I’ll miss it but I’ve got a new challenge in front of me now.”
