David Moyes says West Ham United will be "physically and mentally" ready for the return of the Premier League, whenever that happens.
All of the club's training sites, including the main base at Rush Green, have undergone deep cleans due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and although matches up until the start of April have been postponed, there is a chance further matches after that point could be at risk too, leaving clubs in a difficult position of not knowing when the season will resume.
However, Moyes has said that his side will be ready for whenever that time comes as they look to avoid relegation.
He said: "While we will not play until next month at the earliest, it is my job as manager to ensure our players are physically and mentally ready to return to the pitch, as and when the Premier League decree it is right and safe to do so.
"In consultation with our own expert medical staff, we have put in place special individual training and meal plans for the players, and we have been in daily contact with each and every player to check on their health and wellbeing.
"Rush Green, like all other Club sites, has undergone a deep clean and we will be resuming open-air, drill-based sessions soon, with all necessary measures and precautions of course taken to ensure there is no risk to players’ health."
Moyes, who is now out of a period of self-isolation after coming into contact with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who was diagnosed with the virus last week, has also wished Hammers supporters well as the country continues to battle against the illness.
He said: "We know that unfortunately COVID-19 is a virus that it will affect many of our lives directly over the coming days, weeks and months.
"Everyone here at the Club is pulling together to support one another and of course, the national effort to delay the spread of the virus with our primary focus being the wellbeing of our colleagues, their families and of course our supporters.
"We have already seen many examples throughout society of human nature at its best in the face of adversity and I encourage you all, more than ever, to look out for one another."
