LIVERPOOL boss Rafa Benitez has demanded his side don't make the same mistakes they did when they faced West Ham earlier in the season, James Randall.
A last minute Mark Noble penalty in January secured victory for the Hammers, and Benitez won't want the same mistake to occur tonight.
"It was very frustrating for me, we controlled the last 20 minutes, but then conceded after one of our own corners so I was very disappointed after the game," he told the clubs official website.
"The lesson is that sometimes, if you cannot win the game in 90 minutes, you must not lose the game in the last minute."
The Hammers were smashed 4-0 by Chelsea at the weekend and will hope to get back to winning ways immediately as they fight for a Uefa Cup slot.
Benitez has told his side not to think the Londoners will be a push over.
He continued: "They have some key players who can be dangerous, Carlton Cole is a target man, and Ashton is when he plays.
"They have good wingers as well, Ljungberg can get into the box."
Tonight's clash has been a long time coming, after being postponed on various occasions to incorporate both sides cup exploits.
Benitez said: "It's been really frustrating waiting for this game in hand, they said it was going to be in March.
"Now it has come and we'll be really pleased if we end the game with a win.
"It's a really important game for us, one of our most important of the season.
"That fourth spot is always important and if we win this game we are there, and everything will depend on us."
