HAMMERS boss Alan Curbishley thinks losing tonight will kill off his side's chances of qualifying for the Uefa Cup, writes James Randall.
Curbishley's side - who haven't won at Anfield since The Beatles topped the charts in the sixties - want to get straight back to winning ways after being trounced by Chelsea at the weekend.
Talking about the game the West Ham manager said: "If Liverpool win, it might finish us off in terms of breaking into the European places. We're in no man's land - and we need to change that.
"There are so many permutations, but it looks this season as though finishing seventh or even sixth might not be good enough to get into the Uefa Cup."
Curbishley has been frustrated about his sides lack of progression, seemingly not able to move up the table even if they win.
The ex-Charlton boss said:"We are not too far behind Portsmouth, Blackburn and Manchester City - but we just can't seem to catch them at the moment.
"We don't want the season to peter out. If we lose, we don't seem to go anywhere, and if we win, we don't seem to go anywhere.
"The next three or four weeks will decide our fate."
Since beating Liverpool in January, the Hammers form has been indifferent, having only recorded four points from a possible 12.
