WEST Ham clash with Everton on Saturday with the Merseyside team set to field a blunted attack because of injuries to key players.
Andy Johnson (pictured) is undergoing intensive treatment on a groin strain with the 27-year-old's race for fitness rated as doubtful.
The England hit-man lasted just 14 minutes of last weekend's defeat at Fulham before he was forced to limp off.
Everton physio Mick Rathbone told the club's official website: "AJ had a scan on Monday and it revealed what we thought it would.
"The player has a groin strain and we'll do everything we can to get him fit before the weekend."
Victor Anichebe, who suffered a hip injury, is also a major doubt while James Vaughan is sidelined after a knee operation.
Fortunately for David Moyes, top scorer Yakubu is presently fit and raring to go.
However, ongoing concerns over the fitness of Tim Cahill, Manuel Fernandes, Thomas Gravesen and Andy van der Meyde has left the Toffees boss seriously short of attacking options.
